There are a number of challenges for the hackathon or you can choose your own idea.

British APCO, the main sponsor, has challenged BlueLightCamp participants take advantage of GPS to build an app that would provide critical information about location so as to add value to mission critical incidents. This could include managing volunteers who are involved in searching an area, providing the location of fire fighters in a forest fire, management of persons undertaking a community sentence, safety of health visitors undertaking home visits.

Look upon BlueLightCamp as a way to encounter professionals from the emergency services in a friendly non-work context. The people attending give up their time so they are really interested in finding better technologies and technology suppliers. What better way is there to do that than to come and work with them to hear about and help to solve their real world problems?

BlueLightCamp is a unique hot-bed of good practice sharing, networking and creating new friendships for people interested in improving best practice.
