1. NEXT EVENT - CLOUD COMPUTING DEMYSTIFIED - 15th April - 6 to 9pm

At our next event on 15th April at eOffice, 1 Portland Street, Manchester, we will unravel the benefits of using cloud computer technologies for achieving a competitive advantage, as well as opportunities for startups to offer cloud computing and related technologies. Our speakers and panelists include Ivan Farneti of Doughty Hanson & Co. (Venture Capitalist), Bindi Karia of Microsoft (VC/Emerging Business Lead and BizSpark programme), Simone Brunozzi of Amazon Web Services (Evangelist - Europe) and Roy Shelton of H2O Networks (Commercial Director). Ivan will discuss opportunities from a venture investment point of view whilst Bindi and Simone will discuss the benefits of Microsoft Azure and Amazon Web Services platforms respectively. Roy will join the panel to bring reality to discussions by addressing the use of fibre for last mile connection. We are waiting for Salesforce.com to nominate their evangelist. 2. TECH MISSION LONDON - 8th June

We are organising a tech mission to London on 8th June 2009. The programme from 2 to 5pm includes a workshop on sharing knowledge with London based tech entrepreneurs and investors and exploring partnership opportunities. We will run the successfull Dragons Lair format in the evening. This is our first trip to London as part of the Northern StartUp 2.0. We are looking for sponsors at present.
